| Arlington, VA, November 6, 2007 – The PMMI Education & Training Foundation Golf Tournament, held October 14 in conjunction with PACK EXPO Las Vegas, raised $50,000. Golfers played at Paiute Golf Resort in Las Vegas. “We’re very grateful to the tournament sponsors and players for their support of the PMMI Education & Training Foundation,” says PMMI President/CEO Charles D. Yuska. “It’s evidence of just how important training and education are to the packaging community.” More than 40 companies sponsored the tournament. ELAU Inc. was its Gold Sponsor, and Rockwell Automation sponsored a post-game luncheon and prize ceremony. “Proceeds from the tournament, which attracted 272 players, will support education and training programs,” said Bruce Larson, Goodman Packaging Equipment, who chairs PMMI’s Education and Workforce Development Committee. Larson noted the important role training plays in PMMI member company success: “With the proper training and education, industry professionals have what it takes to troubleshoot and innovate. That knowledge empowers them, just as it empowers the students who receive scholarships from this fund. The real winner of the golf tournament is our industry.” PMMI thanks the following organizations for their contributions to the day’s success:
